About

Mike

MikeSo one day, and to be fair it wasn’t that many years ago, I realised that the gap between 1920 and when I was born is less than the gap when now and when I was born. 1920! Who knew that was going to happen?

And it’s not even that I mind. I mean, it happens, right? It’s more that I don’t know how it happened. One day I was 25. Now I’m not. I still mostly feel the same though.

I’m married to Debbie and have two sons. I have great and hip musical tastes. Truly! I read when I can, but never seem to go to movies now. Except a kid’s movie once in a while. I wish I still played basketball and I don’t go tramping enough. I’m trying to change that though.

I work doing web stuff. I’m interested in web standards. I helped organise Webstock.

I used to have an online journal. Way back in the time before blogs. I used to think blogs, well they were just a passing fad. A collection of links and ego-stroking. Yeah. Look at me now! I can be reached via maupuia at gmail.com

Deb

Wife, mother, webby, photographer, 42.

Stuck between the generational cracks - too young to be a baby boomer, too old to be a Gen-Xer.

Former librarian. You can take the girl out of the library, but you can’t take the librarian out of the girl.

Believer in web standards and usability testing and all those good and wonderful things.

Know my way around HTML and have done some data tables that I’m pretty darn proud of, but I’m not a coder. Don’t get me to do your CSS, I’ll fuck it up.

American.

Lover of punk, alternative, indie, alt country, some hiphop and dance and electronica, NZ music, esp Flying Nun, the oldtime country, blues, some jazz, bit of folk, and even some gospel.

Adamant agnostic and fencesitter. Maybe, maybe not. It depends.

Flickr addict.
