Beat the Parents
So, do you happen to know the name of Jimmy Neutron’s robotic dog? How about the name of the little girl in Monsters Inc.? Superhero Green Bionicle’s weapon of choice?
No, I didn’t either. We bought this game called Beat the Parents and, man, is that the case! It’s a Trivial Pursuit-style game with two sets of questions. Ones that parents ask of the kids (general knowledge sort of questions) and ones that kids ask of the parents (from the world of kids’ television, movies and music).
I thought it would be easy, having watched more kids’ movies and Cartoon Network over the past eight years than is good for anyone. But the questions have been pretty evenly pitched, and Matthew regularly whips my butt. Big time!
He loves playing it. So do we! It’s been something of a family godsend - gets us doing an activity together that doesn’t involve a remote control or a mouse.
However, it has revealed that my capacity to retain any trivia whatsoever is virtually nil.
The answers, by the way, are Godard, Boo and an axe. Who knew?
